What I See Before Going to Sleep
Hold your breath and count the stars,
The twinkling and fading of distant memories.
You built a wall around my heart
And walked freely in a castle I could not see
Should one star fall from the multitude of heaven
Caught by the shining of your eyes,
Burning brighter than a supernova
Forfeiting glory to be by your side
Would you lift my soul with tender hands
And bathe my tongue with unquenchable thirsts
Streams of fire moving like water over desert sand
A melody, a cacophony, the beautiful stinging in my curse
But invisible castles will not crumble
And this wall it bears a mark
Some loves will be eternal
And some will never start
