“That bird looks hungry.”

“Excuse me?” Samuel followed the bird’s stare to the man sitting next to him.

“I said that bird looks hungry. I thought birds flew south in the winter.”

The bird’s wings flapped open as the creature readied for flight and in a flashing vision tore out the stranger’s eyes before ascending to the heavens.

“They don’t” Samuel mumbled and began to speak, “What brings you here?”

“My buddy broke his arm snowboarding.” The man replied yawningly, “He’s gotta get a cast. What about you?”

“It’s a long story but I really don’t want to be here right now.”

“Yeah, who does?”

“Huh, yeah, right… But, I just dropped two hits of acid and my mom brought me here.”

The man ruffled his feathers and began to sing like the crow before dismissing himself.
